PRIVATE TOUR ANY DATE or GROUPS: March – April – May – June – July – August – September – October | WHERE: PORTO JOFRE – BRAZIL | 05 DAYS / 04 NIGHTS
WHAT TO EXPECT?
A 5-day, 4-night itinerary in the Northern Pantanal, specifically in Porto Jofre, the best place on the planet for jaguar watching. This wildlife tour focuses primarily on jaguars in the first half of the trip and on the general wildlife of the Pantanal in the second.
The trip begins in São Paulo, SP, and our meeting point is Guarulhos International Airport. We will take a direct flight in the morning to Cuiabá, the capital of Mato Grosso state. Upon arrival in Cuiabá, we will travel by air-conditioned van to our hotel in Porto Jofre.
The main objective of the trip is to observe jaguars and the Pantanal wildlife in general, one of the richest ecosystems on the planet, both in variety and abundance. The tour is divided into two stages: the first focuses on jaguar watching on the Cuiabá River, and the second on observing the Pantanal wildlife in general, at the Pouso Alegre Lodge, located on the Transpantaneira Highway.
Two full days will be dedicated to jaguar watching on the Cuiabá River and its tributaries. The tour lasts 8 hours, and lunch is served on board. In addition to jaguars, it is possible to spot other species during the tour, such as giant otters, caimans, capybaras, anacondas, jabirus, birds of prey, and other bird species.
The Pantanal is one of the last refuges for a large number of mammals that once thrived throughout South America, such as the jaguar, puma, ocelot, maned wolf, tapir, giant anteater, giant otter, capybara, deer, and many others.
The tour is organized by photographer and wildlife filmmaker Rafael Guadeluppe, founder of the video production company Latin Wild Films and author of the documentary about the Atlantic Forest “The Pulse of the Atlantic Forest”.
