Jaguar observation in the Southern Pantanal

DATE: July – August – September – October | WHERE: Corumbá – MS | 5 DAYS / 4 NIGHTS | PRICE: Single: US$ 2,200.00 – Double: US$ 1,800.00

WHAT TO EXPECT?

A 5-day, 4-night itinerary in the Southern Pantanal, on the banks of the Miranda River, a great place to observe jaguars, especially during the dry season.

On our last two trips to the area, we saw jaguars every day in ideal conditions for taking good photos.

The tour begins in the city of São Paulo, SP, and our meeting point is Guarulhos International Airport. We take a direct flight in the morning to the city of Campo Grande, capital of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Upon arrival in Campo Grande, we travel by air-conditioned car to the Hotel Santa Catarina in Passo do Lontra.

Our location is strategic, close to the Miranda River, an excellent spot for observing jaguars, between the Rio Negro State Park and the Nhecolândia region, considered by many to be the most beautiful and emblematic region of the Pantanal.

The main focus of the tour is the observation of jaguars and the fauna in general of the Pantanal, and most of the tour is done in our exclusive speedboats. We leave in the morning and in the afternoon looking for jaguars and other animals on the banks of the rivers. For this reason, it is a tour that can be done by people of all ages.

The fauna of the Pantanal is one of the richest on the planet, both in variety and quantity, and the sparse vegetation of the Pantanal facilitates the observation of all this wildlife.

The Pantanal is one of the last refuges for a large number of mammals that once abounded throughout South America, such as the jaguar, puma, ocelot, maned wolf, tapir, giant anteater, giant otter, capybara, deer, and many others.

We would also like to point out that we cannot guarantee that we will see any species, but rather that we will be in the right places with the best equipment to find as many species as possible. As for our main objective, the jaguar, it would be irresponsible to guarantee with 100% certainty that we will find it, because nature is unpredictable.

The tour is organized by photographer and wildlife filmmaker Rafael Guadeluppe, founder of the video production company Latin Wild Films and author of the documentary about the Atlantic Forest “The Pulse of the Atlantic Forest”.

SANTA CLARA LODGE

The Santa Clara Lodge is located within a private farm that preserves 1,700 hectares of the Pantanal biome.

The infrastructure of the Santa Clara Lodge offers convenience and comfort in the heart of the Pantanal, with private and shared apartments, bathrooms with electric showers, and a range of leisure options such as a bar, swimming pool with large outdoor seating area, volleyball court, badminton, soccer field, games room, playground, hammocks, free Wi-Fi throughout the lodge, and reception service from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The bar offers drinks, beers, and caipirinhas.

And within the farm area, we can go on various tours such as a photo safari with a trail, hiking, horseback riding, piranha fishing, and nighttime caiman spotting.
